Joshua Blomgren, D.O.
Sports Medicine Joshua Blomgren, D.O.

Dr. Blomgren's practice focuses on sports and musculoskeletal medicine, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of athletes of all ages and skill levels.

A native of West Point, Iowa, where he was valedictorian of his class and a four-sport athlete in high school, Dr. Blomgren came to the Chicago metro area to attend Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. He was a member of the men's soccer team there. Dr. Blomgren received his D.O. degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University. While there he served as class president for two years and received the Dean's Commendation Award. During his time there he became interested in musculoskeletal medicine and developed a love for Osteopathic Manipulation. He completed a Family Practice Residency at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Blomgren is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Following residency, he completed a Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Rush University Medical Center where he worked alongside many of the physicians at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. During his fellowship, Dr. Blomgren served as one of the team physicians for DePaul University and Trinity International University providing injury evaluations in the training room and providing sideline coverage for home football, basketball, and soccer games.

Dr. Blomgren enjoys caring for the injured athlete and diagnosing and treating a variety of musculoskeletal disorders and conditions. Having been a collegiate soccer player and having sustained a season-ending injury in high school, Dr. Blomgren understands the needs and challenges the injured athlete faces.

As part of his sports medicine practice, Dr. Blomgren is on the medical team at the Chicago Marathon and serves as team physician for York Community High School Athletics.
